Amritsar: GNDU associate professor invited to Japan for research

Amritsar: Dr. Tejwant Singh Kang, Associate Professor, Department of Chemistry, Guru Nanak Dev University, received the prestigious invitation from the Japanese Society for the Promotion of Sciences (JSPS) to conduct research in Japan. He is one of two researchers in India to have been awarded this scholarship in recognition of his research credentials earned at GNDU. It will provide support for research and other facilities in collaboration with renowned research professors. Nobuo Kimizuka of Kyushu University will develop new nanoparticles for photon upconversion for theranostics. Dr. Singh will use his extensive experience in colloidal and nanochemistry to establish systems that will be used for simultaneous diagnosis and administration of drugs into cancerous tissues induced by low energy near-IR radiation. Vice Chancellor, GNDU, Professor Jaspal Singh Sandhu, while congratulating Dr. Singh, said that the University is promoting the culture of research by providing various latest generation research facilities to the researchers, which is ultimately leading to quality research in the University.
