Amritsar: Former diplomat interacted with students
AMRITSAR: As a part of the ‘Experiential Learning’ programme, students of Spring Dale on Wednesday got the opportunity to interact with former Ambassador to the US Taranjit Singh Sandhu. Sahiljit Singh Sandhu, President, Spring Dale Educational Society, shared that Taranjit Singh Sandhu has a distinguished diplomatic career spanning over 36 years, where he held key positions in the United Nations and the Ministry of External Affairs. During the interactive session, the former IFS officer tried to focus on India’s resurgence as a global player. “India’s innovative technologies, dynamic educational practices and value-based human resource development system have changed the perspective about India’s potential in the global scenario. Sandhu said the world community is closely watching India’s emergence as a global player. He also highlighted India’s potential to play an important role in global harmony and regional balance.
Science day celebrated in KCW
The Department of Science, Khalsa College for Women (KCW), Amritsar celebrated National Science Day, 2024 focusing on the theme “Indigenous Technology for Developed India”. The program was supported by the Punjab State Council of Science and Technology, National Council for Science and Technology Communication and the Department of Science and Technology. The function started with an expert talk on “Side Effects of Junk Food” by Physiotherapist Dr. Dalvinder Sharma. Dr. Sharma informed the students about the benefits of Ayurvedic medicines and busted various common myths on consuming a balanced diet. An expert talk on the topic “Achievements of Indian Space, Nuclear and Defense Programmes: Challenging Career Opportunities for Science Graduates” was also conducted by Professor Atul Khanna, Head, Department of Physics, Guru Nanak Dev University, Amritsar. The function concluded with an expert talk on “ICT based Physics Lab” by Dr. Dinesh Kumar, Lecturer in Physics, Government Victoria Girls Senior Secondary School, Patiala.
