Amritsar DC inspects EVM strong room, counting centers
Punjab: To ensure complete arrangements for conducting Lok Sabha elections in the border district, District Election Officer-cum-Deputy Commissioner Ghanshyam Thori on Wednesday inspected the proposed counting centre, dispatch center and strong room.
Directing the officials to make adequate arrangements, Thori said that nine assembly constituencies of the district come under Amritsar Lok Sabha seat and counting centers and strong rooms have been set up at various places for them.
Counting of votes of Amritsar South constituency at Sarup Rani Government College for Women, counting of votes of Attari constituency at BBK DAV College for Women, counting of votes of Rajasansi constituency at Government Nursing College for Girls Medical Enclave, counting of votes of Majitha constituency. Mai Bhago will be counted in Government Polytechnic College. At the Government Institute of Technology, Amritsar within the Amritsar North assembly constituency, at the Government Polytechnic College, Amritsar, at the Government ITI B-Block Ranjit Avenue, in the Central constituency, at the Government Polytechnic College, Chheharta, in the Amritsar West assembly constituency At Saragarhi Memorial School of Eminence, Mal Mandi and Government College Ajnala in Ajnala constituency.
DC said that polling parties will be sent from these centres. After the completion of the voting process, EVMs will be kept in the strong room under tight security arrangements. He directed the concerned officials to complete the arrangements in this regard as soon as possible so that no problems arise near the voting.
