Amritsar: A laborer, distressed by financial difficulties, poisoned his daughters and then committed suicide.

Punjab: A laborer in Shahura village, Amritsar, allegedly consumed poison and gave it to his two minor daughters. All three died during treatment. According to sources, the laborer was struggling with financial difficulties. The deceased have been identified as Lovepreet Singh, Jaspreet Kaur, and Veerpal Kaur. Singh, unemployed, was struggling to support his family. His wife, Kuldeep Kaur, worked at a grocery store.
According to family members, Singh left his wife at work and returned home, where he allegedly consumed poison and gave it to his two daughters. When their condition worsened, they were taken to a hospital in Amritsar, where all three died. Singh’s family consists of his wife and a minor son, Nabi Noor. The deceased’s uncle, Ajit Singh, said that his nephew was under immense stress due to joblessness and mounting financial pressures. After completing the legal formalities, the bodies were handed over to the family for last rites.
