Amidst rain in Bhopal, CM Yadav paid tribute to the heroes of Kargil war

Bhopal: Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav on Friday paid tribute to the heroes of the Kargil war at the Shaurya Smarak in Bhopal on the occasion of the 25th anniversary of Kargil Vijay Diwas. CM Yadav recalled the contribution of the brave soldiers to defend the country and paid floral tribute to them amid rain in the state capital. “We are proud of our army, which protected our country; their sacrifice and courage have created a new history. Amid various challenges from enemies, our soldiers not only hoisted the tricolor at great heights but also created history of victory. Such unmatched contribution, sacrifice and courage created a new history of India’s victory,” CM Yadav said. “It has been 25 years since that glory and many of our soldiers have sacrificed their lives in the fight.

President Draupadi Murmu also paid tribute to the soldiers on the 25th anniversary of Kargil Vijay Diwas, lauding the “courage and extraordinary valour” of the country’s armed forces. In a post on Twitter, President Murmu urged all countrymen to “draw inspiration from the sacrifice and valour” of the soldiers. The President mentioned in her post, “Kargil Vijay Diwas is an occasion for a grateful nation to pay tribute to the indomitable courage and extraordinary valour of our armed forces. I pay tribute to each and every soldier who made the supreme sacrifice while defending Mother India on the peaks of Kargil in the year 1999 and salute their sacred memory.” She added, “I am confident that all countrymen will draw inspiration from their sacrifice and valour. Jai Hind! Jai Bharat!” Kargil Vijay Diwas, celebrated every year on July 26, commemorates the success of Operation Vijay in 1999. During the conflict, the Indian Army successfully captured strategic positions in the Kargil sector of Jammu and Kashmir where Pakistani troops and militants had infiltrated. (ANI)
