Alia Bhatt completes shooting of film ‘Jigra’
Mumbai: Actress Alia Bhatt has completed shooting for her upcoming film ‘Jigra’ with Vedang Raina. Announcing the finale, Alia on Thursday took to her Instagram to share pictures of herself and Vedanga from the sets of the film. Sharing the post, she wrote, “Jigra oh… abki teri baari ho @vedangraina and this is #JIGRA @vasanbla “A film is wrapping on @swapsagram. See you soon… 27th September 2024 in a theater near you.”
In the pictures, Alia is seen in a brand new short hair look for the film. Alia and Vedang are seen in a candid mood sitting next to each other. As soon as the pictures were shared, fans and industry members flooded the comments section. Zoya Akhtar, Janhvi Kapoor and Vasan Bala dropped heart emoticons on Alia’s post.
Khushi Kapoor, who is rumored to be dating Vedang, commented with a white heart emoji. Vedang shared the same pictures and expressed his excitement on his Instagram handle. He wrote, “And this is the finale of Jigra @AliaBhatt. A film and a character that has given me as much as it has taken away from me. A journey that means everything. See you at the movies on 27th September.”
Directed by Vasan Bala, ‘Jigra’ will be co-produced by Karan Johar and Alia herself. The film is all set to release in theaters on September 27, 2024. Director Vasan Bala has previously made films like ‘Monica O My Darling’, a crime thriller film ‘Peddlers’ and ‘Mard Ko Dard Nahi Hota’.
‘Jigra’ was announced in September last year. The announcement video shows that the film is a story of a sister’s love for her brother and how she will do anything to protect him. ‘Jigra’ marks the first on-screen collaboration of Alia and Vasan. Apart from this, Alia will also be seen in director Farhan Akhtar’s film ‘Jee Le Zara’ with Priyanka Chopra and Katrina Kaif.
The film promises to be another friendship story in the lineage of ‘Dil Chahta Hai’ and ‘Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara’. Meanwhile, ‘Jigra’ is Vedang’s second film, having debuted with Zoya Akhtar’s ‘The Archies’ last year. (ANI)
