Akshay Kumar told Twinkle Khanna in an interview about his marriage

Akshay Kumar: When Akshay Kumar and Twinkle Khanna decided to get married, all was not well with Twinkle’s parents, the legendary Rajesh Khanna and Dimple Kapadia. Initially, Dimple Kapadia was not too thrilled with the idea. However, in a candid interview, she revealed that with time, she realised that Akshay was indeed the best choice for Twinkle. Dimple shared some heartwarming details about her domestic life, highlighting Akshay’s mischievous nature and expressing her admiration for him by calling him a “wonderful person”. Dimple Kapadia recalled at an event organised by FICCI FLO Jaipur, “Earlier, I was skeptical about getting my daughter married to him. Thank God he did. As far as discipline is concerned, he is a person any aspiring actor would want to be like. He is a wonderful person. I see him socialising with a lot of people and he has a lot of fun just sitting and playing basketball or cards with you.

He can just sit and chat with you and make you feel really good. He is very naughty and he seeks me out to do such things.” Twinkle Khanna had revealed an interesting advice from her mother Dimple Kapadia about her relationship with Akshay Kumar in a chat on Tweak India. When Akshay proposed marriage, Dimple suggested that the two should live together for two years before marriage to ensure their compatibility. Twinkle revealed, “When my husband said he wanted to marry me, my mother said, ‘Nothing, you live together for two years. If you become successful, you get married’.” Dimple Kapadia also spoke about a memorable prank Akshay played on her. He convinced her to accompany him to Delhi on the pretext of meeting Mrs Sonia Gandhi. Dimple, who felt she couldn’t refuse, got ready on time. When they were about to leave, Akshay said he had forgotten his wallet and had to stay at his house. He asked Dimple to come inside to watch the kids while he brought back his wallet.

On entering the house, she was surprised to find that she was at a grand surprise party organised on her 50th birthday. Dimple laughingly recalled, “So I came in and a huge party was thrown for me, it was my 50th birthday. And he does this to me every time.” Earlier this year, Twinkle Khanna completed her Masters in Fiction Writing at Goldsmiths, University of London. After her graduation, Akshay became her biggest cheerleader. He shared a happy picture of himself with Twinkle on social media and also penned a heartwarming note on her big achievement. Praising Twinkle, Akshay wrote, “Two years ago, when you told me you wanted to study again, I wondered if you really wanted it. But the day I saw you working so hard and perfectly managing home, career, me and the kids as well as a full-fledged student life, I knew I had married a superwoman.”
