Ajnala: Suspended police died due to drug overdose

Guru Ka Bagh: A youth of village Tera Kalan under Tehsil Ajnala has reportedly died due to drug injection. The body of the youth was found under a tree in the nearby village Kiyampur. The deceased has been identified as Gursevak Singh (25) son of Tarlochan Singh. Giving information in this regard, the grandfather of the deceased youth, Harbans Singh, said that my brother’s grandson, Gursevak Singh got a job in Punjab Police in Ludhiana after his father’s death. He further said that due to drug addiction, he was not going to his duty, due to which the department has suspended him. He further said that the deceased’s grandmother died a week ago. To pay for the goods and money brought for her funeral, today he took 20 thousand rupees from his mother and injected himself with drugs in the nearby village Kiyampur, due to which he died. The deceased was the only son of his young parents. DSP Raj Kumar and SHO of Ajnala Police Station Himanshu Bhagat, who reached the spot, said that the matter is being investigated and appropriate action will be taken as per the law based on whatever facts emerge.
