Ajay Singh took charge as Chhattisgarh State Election Commissioner

Raipur. Ajay Singh has taken charge as the fifth Election Commissioner of Chhattisgarh State Election Commission today. Ajay Singh, a 1983 batch IAS officer, retired from government service in February 2020. It is worth noting that before being appointed to the post of Chhattisgarh State Election Commissioner, he was serving as Vice President, State Planning Commission. After being relieved from there, he has assumed the charge of State Election Commissioner today.

On this occasion of welcome, Secretary, Dr. Sarveshwar Narendra Bhure, while briefly introducing Commissioner Singh to the officers of the State Election Commission, also informed about the responsibilities assigned to these officers. Commissioner Singh then inspected all the rooms of the Commission and emphasized on making preparations for the general elections of urban bodies and three-tier panchayats to be held in the coming time.

On assuming charge as State Election Commissioner Singh, he was given a warm welcome by the Commission. On this occasion, Secretary Dr. Bhure, Deputy Secretary Dr. Neha Kapoor, Under Secretary Dr. Anupriya Mishra and Under Secretary Pranay Kumar Verma along with other officers and employees of the Commission were present.
