AITUC Slams Govt Over Singareni Workers’ Welfare

AITUC branch secretary Konda Mallikarjuna Rao said that the government is neglecting the living conditions of the families of Singareni workers. He said that the comments made by State Deputy Chief Minister Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka in the Assembly that the Singareni workers are facing financial burden on the organization due to their medical unfitness are anti-labor. Alleging that the state government is not paying attention to the problems of Singareni workers, the workers of PVK-5 Mine Singareni Identification Association in Kothagudem area on Saturday protested in an innovative manner under the leadership of the AITUC branch secretary. The workers tied black ribbons to their faces and held a protest with placards, and later submitted a petition to the portrait of Dr. B.R. Ambedkar. Speaking on the occasion, he criticized the leaders of the state government affiliated union INTUC for staging a fake protest in front of the Singareni headquarters to cover up the remarks made by Deputy Chief Minister Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka.
If the government is truly sincere, they demanded that the medical board be run in the old way. Similarly, they asked that the general assistants working in the underground be surface converted and given first priority in filling vacancies in the area.
