AIADMK token distribution in Port Assembly constituency: Case closed

Tamil Nadu: The Chennai High Court has dismissed a case seeking an Election Commission inquiry into the distribution of tokens with QR codes by the AIADMK in the Chennai Port constituency.

In a petition filed in the Chennai High Court by Advocate K. Ravindran, Royapuram Mano is contesting the Chennai Port constituency on behalf of the AIADMK. The AIADMK, which is collecting votes for him, is distributing tokens with QR codes to every household in the area. After winning the election, the AIADMK is claiming that every person who uses the QR code on these tokens will be given Rs 10,000. This is electoral fraud. I have filed a complaint with the Election Commission regarding this. Based on my complaint, they requested that the Election Commission order an inquiry.

On Friday, when Chief Justice S.A. Dharmadhikari and Justice G. When the case came up for hearing before the bench of Justice Arulmurugan, Advocate Niranjan, representing the Election Commission, stated that two complaints had been received regarding the distribution of tokens. Flying squad officers went directly to the scene and conducted a search, but found nothing.

As a result, the police have registered a case in connection with the complaint. The police stated that they are investigating on a case-by-case basis. The judge who registered the case ordered the case closed, stating that the Election Commission is taking action in the matter.
