Agro tourism boost for Kotia cluster of villages

JEYPORE/BERHAMPUR : Koraput collector V Keerthi Vasan on Tuesday said the administration will focus more on agro-tourism in Kotia panchayat under Pottangi block to strengthen the local economy by providing livelihood in the upcoming days.
Speaking on the occasion of Utkal Divas celebrations at Kotia, the collector stated that the administration has already implemented high-income generation programmes for locals, including strawberry, banana, and hill broom cultivation. Additionally, there are plans to promote coffee cultivation in the hilly areas.
“From Deomali Valley to all hilly areas of Kotia panchayat, we will promote agro-tourism in the upcoming days by introducing more government programs,” he said.
He added that about 2,000 women from Kotia panchayat have been enlisted in the Subhadra Yojana. Vasan urged local people to approach the administration to avail various government schemes.
