As a result of the efforts of Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Dev Sai and the active initiative of the Industry Department, the Ministry of Commerce and Industry of the Government of India has approved the opening of the regional office of APEDA (Agricultural and Processed Food Products Export Development Authority) in Raipur. With the opening of this regional office, many benefits will be available to the farmers, producers and exporters of Chhattisgarh at one place. It will be easy to export fruits, vegetables, rice, GI tagged products, millets and other agricultural products directly to the international market from the APEDA office. The team of Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) arrested the Executive Engineer (XEN) of Public Works Department (PWD) of Delhi while taking bribe. The team searched the houses of XEN in Delhi and Jaipur. The team found Rs 1.60 crore in cash. The CBI team is interrogating the XEN. According to CBI – A case was registered against the arrested XEN in the CBI office on July 28. It was told in the complaint that the XEN was demanding bribe for making payment of pending bills. He was demanding three percent commission of the total outstanding bill as bribe. A bribe of Rs 30,000 was demanded from the complainant in exchange for clearing the pending bills. A trap was laid by the CBI team. The complainant was sent away after giving him Rs 30,000 as bribe. The CBI team caught the accused Executive Engineer (XEN) as soon as he took the bribe of Rs 30,000. The CBI teams searched the XEN’s locations in Delhi and Jaipur. Apart from cash, property documents were also found during the search.
