Agaram Foundation established by Surya helps 3,000 students to get education
Agaram Foundation: Suriya Sivakumar is a well-known Tamil star who is not only an actor and filmmaker but has also contributed a lot through social activities. He once said that being involved in social activities is not just a service but it is also a responsibility. He also said that he should give something to the society in every possible way. Agaram Foundation, founded by Suriya in 2006, aims to bring a change in the lives of millions of people who are still deprived of education. According to sources, till 2019, more than 3,000 students have got the opportunity to pursue higher education through this foundation. Actor Suriya’s Agaram Foundation organized an event in Chennai to encourage and reward students from marginalized families who are the first generation to go to college after passing 12th. Speaking at the event, a student from Manipur claimed that she is grateful to Agaram Foundation for allowing her to study as many school and college students in Manipur are deprived of education due to excessive violence. She also expressed hope for a change in the exceptional situation of Manipur. Speaking at the event, actor Shivkumar said that only education and discipline will take us to heights. Actor Karthi then said that we should strive to become what we want to become. Finally speaking at the event, actor Surya proudly said that he has been successful in changing the lives of 6,000 students in the last 20 years through his foundation. He advised his students to go with the flow and always have a positive attitude towards life. Surya claimed that education is the best shield and he salutes the fighting spirit of students coming from marginalized families who aspire to become a successful person in the future. He also expressed his gratitude to the teachers who are providing them quality education and thanked them for making him believe that education can change everything.
