‘Affordable Art India’ will be launched in Hyderabad

Hyderabad: Hyderabad is set to host the inaugural edition of Affordable Art India, showcasing a fascinating range of artistic expressions from across the country. An initiative by Srila Chatterjee, the show will be held from August 2 to 4 at the Crafts Council of Telangana in Banjara Hills. The Affordable Art Show will showcase various forms of art, from modern contemporary creations to traditional vintage pieces. Among other artists, Anita Alvares, known for her striking illustrations and urban sketches, Ashish Malakar, who specializes in sholapitha sculptures, ornamentation and indoor lampshades, Banu Batliboi, known for her unique paper art repurposing old books, Dolan Kudu, a “pinch potter” whose clay pieces reflect her mastery in creating delicate and expressive forms, and an exclusive collection of watercolour artworks by Zainab Tambawala reflecting the essence of Hyderabad. Organised by Baro Market, the exhibition aims to ensure that art is accessible to all. “By showcasing diverse styles, we hope to foster an inclusive atmosphere where art lovers and newcomers alike can find something that resonates with them,” said Shrila Chatterjee, who curated the show.
