Aegean Airlines reports record profit in first quarter

Business Business: Aegean Airlines on Wednesday reported record core profit in the first quarter. The company’s profit has increased due to an 8% increase in passenger traffic.
Aegean Airlines recorded EBITDA of 43.8 million euros (about 49.56 million dollars) in the first quarter, up from 33.2 million euros in the same period last year. First quarter revenue rose 14% year over year to 306 million euros.
Aegean CEO, said in a statement, “The continued improvement in local demand and the extension of the tourist season, especially in Athens and Thessaloniki, are giving us better operating capacity.”
As part of the forward plan, Aegean Airlines aims to offer 21.2 million seats in 2025, 1.5 million more than last year.
