Advisory issued to take precautions in Ganesh Pandals

SP Jitendra Shukla held a meeting with the Additional Superintendent of Police (City), City Superintendent of Police and all the police station in-charges of Durg district and directed them to further activate the campaign against drug abuse. All the police station in-charges have been directed to ensure that no complaint of drug abuse is received in the police station area and to continuously run a campaign for checking drunk and drive. Along with this, strict instructions have been given to take action against license cancellation along with action if caught driving in a drunken state or talking on mobile. Also, during the meeting, clear instructions were given to all the police station in-charges to celebrate Ganesh Utsav in a peaceful manner. The committees for Ganesh Pandals have been strictly instructed to immerse Ganesh idols only on the scheduled dates and not to play loud speakers and DJ in any pandal till late night. The following instructions have been given to Ganesh committees.

1. Volunteers should be appointed for the security of the idol during Ganeshotsav and at least two of them should be present at all times.
2. Suspicious persons and suspicious items should be monitored at the venue.
3. Make sure that water does not fall on the idol in case of rain. Make proper arrangements to avoid water.
4. It is mandatory to have at least 2 volunteers near the Ganesh pandal at night. 05. Keep a closed circuit TV at the venue as per requirement.
5. The list of committee members and mobile numbers should be given to the police station.
6. It is necessary to install CCTV cameras near the Ganesh pandal.
7. No person will be present near the Ganesh pandal after consuming intoxicants.
8. Ganesh pandal will not be built on the road and vehicles should also not be parked on the road in a haphazard manner.
9. Keep fire extinguishers and sand buckets available near the Ganesh pandal.
10. Mandatory taping of illegal electricity connections and exposed electricity wires
11. Do not install swings etc. near the pandal and electric wires.
12. It is mandatory to take due permission for DJ in Ganesh pandal and for setting up swings and fairs nearby. Also, if any other cultural program is organized, it is mandatory to take prior permission for that too.
