Administrative boundary restructuring deadline in Odisha set for June 30

Bhubaneswar: In view of the upcoming population census, the Odisha government set a deadline for the reorganisation of its administrative boundaries.

As per a notification issued by the Revenue and Disaster Management Department, the State government allowed changes of administrative boundaries of the Districts, Sub-Divisions, Tahasils, Revenue Villages and also Urban Local Bodies so fixed including boundaries fixed under any law for the time being in force, before June 30.

“No.PT1-RDM-census-CENSUS-0001-2019-12880 /R&DM, In exercise of the powers conferred under clause (iv) of rule 8 of the Census Rules, 1990, and in partial modification of this Department Notification No.25187/R&DM dated 21.08.2020, No.5513/R&DM dated 17.02.2021, No.14039/R&DM dated 28.04.2021, No.21657/R&DM dated 27.07.2021, No.734/R&DM dated 07.01.2022, No.24156/R&DM dated 27.01.2023, No.32143/R&DM dated 20.07.2022, No.3319/R&DM dated 07.09.2023, No.2784/R&DM dated 30.01.2024 and No.39140/R&DM dated 12.11.2024, the State Government do hereby allow changes of administrative boundaries of the Districts, Sub-Divisions, Tahasils, Revenue Villages and also Urban Local Bodies so fixed including boundaries fixed under any law for the time being in force, before 30th June, 2025. The boundaries of administrative units for ensuing Census will be frozen on 1st July, 2025,” read the notification of the department.
