Adhikari Raj disrupted governance in Odisha: Yogi

Cuttack: When bureaucracy takes over democracy, it results in dictatorship, corruption, exploitation of people and mafia rule, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath said while addressing an election rally at Kuliya RMC ground in Mahanga assembly constituency on Thursday. Hui said.

He said that ‘Officer Raj’ in Odisha for the last 25 years has harmed governance and pushed the state back by 50 years. Yogi said, “People now have the opportunity to vote for a double engine government like in Uttar Pradesh.”

“It is surprising how Odia identity is being played with and the government is protecting the killers of Swami Lakshmanananda Saraswati. The officials have promoted land mafia, coal mafia and played with the future of the youth and looted the natural resources of the state,” the UP Chief Minister said.
He said that high rates are being charged from consumers for electricity in Odisha, while outside it is being sold at cheaper prices. “This is only because Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik has been misled by his officials,” he alleged.

“You have given Naveen Babu the opportunity to serve for so long. But unfortunately, there has not been much development. Uttar Pradesh was affected by cattle, land and mining mafia till 2017. But now the mafia raj has ended in my state and the property seized from the mafia is being used to build schools, hospitals and other public utilities. We have deployed bulldozers for the safety of businessmen and women. Now UP has become a model state in the country,” he said while appealing to the people to vote for Kendrapara MP candidate Baijayant Panda and other BJP candidates contesting from the assembly constituency.

Yogi said that India’s attitude has changed in the last 10 years under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. While this has enhanced India’s prestige, the country’s borders have also been secured. Terrorism and Naxalism are on the verge of ending. There has been massive development of infrastructure in the country, be it highways or railways. Emphasis has been laid on the development of education and health sectors. He said more airports have been built than in 2014.
Speaking on the development and welfare programs undertaken by the Modi-led central government, he said that through direct benefit transfer, the Prime Minister has ensured that money from the Center reaches the accounts of beneficiaries eliminating the need for middlemen.
