Actress Mouni Roy has alleged harassment during a wedding event in Karnal.

Haryana: Actress Mouni Roy has alleged that she was harassed during a performance at a private wedding function in Karnal, describing the incident as “humiliating” and “painful.” The allegations surfaced when the actress shared a detailed note on her Instagram account on Saturday, stating that she had contacted the Karnal police regarding the matter. However, local police said they have not yet received any formal complaint.

According to Roy, the incident occurred while she was performing on stage at the event. She alleged that several members of the audience, including elderly men, behaved inappropriately, touched her inappropriately, and made offensive remarks.

“I am deeply saddened by the behavior of the guests, especially two uncles who are old enough to be grandparents,” Roy wrote. She alleged that while she was making her way to the stage, some men put their hands on her waist while taking pictures, despite her telling them not to.

Calling the incident disturbing, Roy said, “If someone like me has to go through this, I can only imagine what young girls who are starting out and doing shows have to endure.” She appealed to the authorities to take action, saying, “We are artists who are honestly earning our livelihood through our art.”

Meanwhile, SHO of Sector 32/33 police post, Inspector Manoj Kumar, said that the police have not yet received any complaint regarding the incident.
