AAP Chief Takes Action Against Official Following Bust of Drug Trafficking Racket

Delhi AAP unit chief Saurabh Bharadwaj on Monday alleged that a police officer who exposed the rise of drug trade in the national capital was subjected to disciplinary action.
Sharing a purported video on social media, in which a police officer can be seen saying that whenever Delhi Police arrests drug traffickers and criminals, orders come from Chief Minister Rekha Gupta or BJP MLAs to release them, forcing the police to let the accused go.
Bharadwaj alleged, “Today, synthetic drugs are easily available in many places across the city and children as young as 14-15 years old are consuming them and committing crimes.”
“People may not believe what he says, but they will surely believe what a Delhi Police SHO says. The SHO himself is saying that whenever the police arrest drug traffickers, drug peddlers and criminals, orders come from CM Rekha Gupta’s office to release them,” he said.
Police initiated disciplinary action against an inspector after a video circulating on social media allegedly showed him claiming that criminals involved in narcotics and other offences are released on the directions of public representatives.
