Aamir Khan quits smoking for son’s career
Delhi. Bollywood actor Aamir Khan’s son Junaid Khan is all set for the release of his much-awaited dramatic film Loveyaapa, starring Khushi Kapoor in the lead role. Earlier today, the trailer of the film was released in Mumbai, where Aamir was also present. During the event, he opened up about quitting his long-standing ‘bad’ habit of smoking cigarettes and pipes, despite his love for tobacco.
Aamir said, “Smoking is something that I like very much, I enjoy it. For so many years I used to smoke cigarettes, then smoke a pipe. Tobacco is something that I enjoy; it is not good for health, and no one should do it. I am happy that I quit this bad habit. The reason for this is really special.” Further, Aamir revealed that the decision was a turning point for him as he decided to give up his old habit for his son Junaid who is starting his career in films. “I have said in my heart a mannat maang li, ye chale nahi chale, I am giving up from my side, as a father, I will sacrifice. And I hope in many universes he will go and do something,” the 59-year-old actor said.
Junaid’s Loveyaapa is directed by Advait Chandan, the same producer of Aamir Khan’s Laal Singh Chaddha, and produced by Phantom Studios and AGS Entertainment. Loveyaapa also stars Ashutosh Rana, Grusha Kapoor, Tanvika Parlikar and Kiku Sharda. The film is set to release on February 7, 2025. The film will be Junaid and Khushi’s first theatrical release after their OTT films Maharaj and The Archies respectively.
