A young man who went to his maternal uncle’s house committed rape, police is searching for him

Raigarh. A youth has committed the crime of rape by threatening a minor. He took advantage of the loneliness of the night and did the wrong thing and later started threatening to defame her. In such a situation, the victim has lodged a report of the incident in the police station. The case is of Kotra Road police station area. According to the information received, Vikas Bhardwaj, a resident of village Ukaripali of Kharsia police station area, used to visit his maternal uncle’s house in Kotra Road police station area.

In such a situation, the 16-year-old minor knew him for the last 2 years. In April 2024, when the marriage was taking place in the house of the minor’s relative, Vikas also came there and started saying that he liked her. Then there was a conversation between the two and after that they started talking on mobile. On 31 December 2024, when the minor was alone in the house, Vikas reached her house and took the minor on the bike in the name of roaming. He kept roaming here and there throughout the day.

After this, when it was night, Vikas took her to a deserted place near Kanshichuva and started luring her with the promise of marriage. When the minor said that she was not of the right age yet, he raped her forcefully by threatening her.

After this, he took the minor home with him. The next day when her family members were found out, they took her home. On Saturday afternoon, when the minor was going to give the exam on her bicycle, Vikas Bhardwaj reached her and started threatening to defame her if she did not come with him. The minor did not say anything out of fear and went to give her exam. In the evening, after giving the exam, she returned home and somehow told the whole thing to her family members, but due to fear of public shame, they were not filing a report. Even after this, Vikas continued to intimidate, threaten and threaten to defame her. Troubled by this, the victim reported the matter to Kotra Road police station on Sunday. Where the police have registered a crime against the accused under sections 4-CHL, 137 (2)-BNS, 64-BNS and taken the matter into investigation.
