A man has been booked for allegedly using a fake local train pass created using ChatGPT.

Maharashtra: The incident occurred on December 25 at around 12:45 PM when ticket examiner Kunal Savardekar was conducting routine checks near the main gate of Platform 1 at Byculla railway station.

When asked to show his ticket, the accused, identified as Adil Ansari Khan, displayed a railway pass shown as a photo on his iPhone 13 Pro.

Suspicion arose over the non-UTS pass

Authorities became suspicious because the pass was not displayed on the official UTS mobile application. Khan was then taken to the ticket checking office for further investigation.

Senior railway officials later confirmed that the pass did not meet official regulations and was fake.

Pass allegedly created using ChatGPT

The investigation revealed that Khan, a resident of Mumbra who does odd jobs, had created a one-month pass using ChatGPT after seeking guidance from a friend.

The forged pass showed a fare of Rs 215 for travel between Mumbra and Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus (CSMT) from November 24 to December 25. Police said Khan allegedly used the fake pass throughout this period.
