A historic step is being taken for surrendered Naxalites and Naxal-affected families
Raipur. The Chhattisgarh government has taken a historic step for the rehabilitation of surrendered Naxalites and Naxal-affected families. Due to the special efforts of Deputy Chief Minister Vijay Sharma, the Central Government has approved 15,000 houses under the PM Rural Housing Scheme.
Deputy Chief Minister Sharma, during his tour from time to time, met Union Home Minister Amit Shah and Rural Development Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan and requested for approval to provide housing to surrendered Naxalites and victim families. As a result, approval for 15 thousand houses has been given by the Government of India. Sharma said that this initiative is a big step to connect surrendered Naxalites and victim families to the mainstream. These are not just houses but a symbol of respect and security for those families. Our government will implement this scheme with complete transparency and promptness.
Under this special project, the Superintendent of Police will provide the list of surrendered Naxalites and Naxal-affected families to the CEO District Panchayat of the district. After this, this list will be surveyed and verified by the District Panchayat. After verification, land will be marked for the beneficiaries through the Collector. On this basis, the process of housing construction will begin.
This scheme will specifically include those families whose names were not included in the list of Socio Economic Caste Census 2011 and Awas Plus 2018. The central government has allowed these names to be uploaded on the Awas Plus portal by 6 December 2024.
