A Chipket Industrial Park will be established in the Katpadi constituency: Duraimurugan

Tamil Nadu: Water Resources Minister Duraimurugan stated that the SIPCOT Industrial Park will definitely be established in the Mahimandalam area, creating employment opportunities for the youth of the Katpadi constituency.

On Saturday, a program was held in Mathandakuppam, Ponnai, and Keeraisathu panchayats of Katpadi taluk, where welfare assistance, including housing grants and old-age pensions, totaling ₹6 crore 92 lakh 4 thousand 4 rupees, was distributed to 465 beneficiaries.

Water Resources Minister Duraimurugan participated in the program as the special guest and spoke about the welfare projects: “While there are many tasks to be done at the state level, it is even more important to complete the necessary work for my constituency.

I have also completed several projects in the Katpadi constituency, especially in the Ponnai area, to fulfill the promises I made. Projects like those completed in the Ponnai area are not found anywhere else.

No other city has seen as much development as Ponnai, including a new elevated flyover costing ₹45 crore, two new buses, a road from Ponnai to Sholinghur, widening of roads from Ponnai to Vellore and Arcot, a government arts college in Sholinghur, and a 60-bed government hospital.

My ambition is to work for this constituency in such a way that whatever is available in the Katpadi constituency should not be available in any other constituency. Currently, construction is underway to establish a SIPCOT in the Mahimandalam area to create good employment opportunities for the educated youth of this region. I will complete that as well. If factories come here, many people from the Katpadi constituency will get jobs. Additionally, a SIPCOT has been established where the ammunition factory was located in Katpadi, and two factories are being constructed there.

The overhead water tank in Keeraisathu village is damaged. That tank will also be repaired immediately. A bus shelter will be constructed using funds from my constituency development fund.” He said that if those who have not yet received free housing plots submit a petition today, immediate action will be taken, and they too will be allotted plots soon.

Vellore District Collector V.R. Subbulakshmi, District Revenue Officer M. Sivasubramanian, Mathandakuppam Panchayat President R. Venkatesan, Katpadi Taluk Officer Jagatheeswaran, and several others participated in the event.
