A BJP worker will become the CM of Karnataka: Shobha Karandlaje

Bengaluru (IANS) | Union Minister of State for Agriculture and Farmers Welfare Shobha Karandlaje on Thursday claimed that exit polls would be proved wrong and a BJP worker would become the next chief minister in Karnataka. Asked whether she would become the chief minister if she won the state assembly polls, Karandlaje told reporters that there was no question of her returning to state politics. He said, I have got the opportunity to work with Prime Minister Narendra Modi. I am happy there.

Karandlaje said, we are confident of forming a majority government. As per the reports of booth level workers, we are ahead in more than 120 seats. Prime Minister Modi’s road shows have boosted the party’s electoral prospects.

On the Congress being upbeat after the exit poll projections, he said, “Last time also Siddaramaiah took a suit to become the chief minister. But, HD Kumaraswamy became the Chief Minister through the back door. This time, we will form the government.

He said, I have said earlier also that the results of exit polls are wrong. I still stand by my point. Former Chief Minister B.S. Yediyurappa’s report never turned out to be false.

He said that the low polling percentage in Bengaluru is sad. People did not turn up to vote even after the holiday was announced, he said. Let them come out of their houses at least in future.
