Tamil Nadu: The All Women’s Police Station near Vellore has registered a case under the POCSO Act against the father who raped his daughter and is actively searching for him, who is absconding.
A 13-year-old girl from Vellore district completed her 8th grade from a government higher secondary school in Vellore last year. On the 25th, when she suddenly fell ill, her parents took her to a private hospital in Vellore.
Doctors examined her and found that she was two months pregnant. The doctors also informed the Vellore All Women’s Police.
Police subsequently arrived and questioned the girl and her parents. The student revealed that she had become acquainted with a young man named Sondha from Katpadi, who had taken her to Katpadi two months ago, kept her in a hidden place, and raped her, leaving her terrified.
The police registered a case under the POCSO Act and launched a vigorous search for the young man. When the police investigated the boy’s location, they discovered that he was not responsible for the girl’s death and that the girl had provided false information.
Further investigations revealed that her father had raped her several times at night alone and sometimes gave her pills to prevent pregnancy. It has now been revealed that despite this, the girl was pregnant.
Following this, the police have registered a case under the POCSO Act against the girl’s father and are actively searching for him, who is absconding.
