Lucknow: Woman attempted suicide, suffered 90 percent burn injuries

Lucknow: A 30-year-old woman from Unnao district suffered 90 per cent burn injuries after she allegedly tried to immolate herself following a dispute with her family in Lucknow’s Vikramaditya Marg area, police said on Tuesday. “A woman tried to immolate herself by pouring inflammable liquid over herself near Vikramaditya Marg in Gautam Palli police station area,” Deputy Commissioner of Police (Lucknow Central) Raveena Tyagi said. “Police personnel doused the fire and admitted her to Dr. Shyama Prasad Mukherjee (civil) hospital,” she said. “The woman has suffered 90 per cent burn injuries and is undergoing treatment,” Tyagi said, adding that she took the step due to a family dispute.
