Ola Electric motorcycle teased ahead of rumored August launch
Ola CEO Bhavish Aggarwal has released a teaser of one of the company’s upcoming electric motorcycles on social media. The brand which is currently popular among two-wheeler lovers for its e-scooter lineup is working on its first electric motorcycle. According to reports, the new Ola Electric electric motorcycle will be officially launched on August 15.
Now, we have got information about the battery pack, electric motor, front sprocket, and final drive chain of the e-motorcycle thanks to the teaser.
Ola Electric first showcased the concept version of four possible electric motorcycle models a year ago. The concept version also had a futuristic design with advanced features.
The teased e-bike is said to be the production ready version of one of those four models. The teaser has confirmed a steel tubular frame with a compact battery pack for the e-motorcycle. The electric motor is located below the battery pack while the drive chain has a viable front sprocket. It also had multiple control modules strategically located on the bike.
Features visible in the teaser image include the presence of forward-mounted footpegs which confirms that the model is an e-motorcycle. Meanwhile, the seat height appears to be the same as that of the battery pack, suggesting an accessible saddle height for riders.
The company is yet to reveal the official name and specification details of the production-ready electric bike. It is unlikely that the model will become a production model within this year. We will get to know more after Ola Electric’s August 15 announcement.
