Mumbai: 45-year-old man injured after floor collapses, this is the second incident in 3 days
Mira Bhayandar: A 45-year-old man suffered minor injuries but survived after the entire floor of his first-floor apartment collapsed after midnight on Friday.According to fire brigade personnel, the incident took place in Chandresh Building No. 22 located in Jai-Vijay Nagar near Silver Park in Mira Road.Kismat Das (45), a resident of flat number 103 on the first floor, was sleeping on a sofa in the living room when the floor suddenly collapsed around 12:45 am. Das fell down along with the sofa and other furniture into the flat located on the ground floor (003). Das suffered minor injuries but luckily the flat on the ground floor was vacant.Fire brigade personnel and officials from the local ward office immediately rushed to the spot and evacuated the ground and two-storey building comprising 12 flats. Meanwhile, the municipal administration has directed the housing society to get a structural audit of the 24-year-old building conducted by a panel auditor and submit the report at the earliest. In a similar incident, a large portion of the floor of a first-floor flat collapsed on the ground-floor apartment of a building in RNA Broadway Complex on Mira Road, injuring two people on Wednesday morning (July 24).
