Instructions to give the benefit of two salary hikes to female teacher, hearing held in High Court

Bilaspur: Teacher Anupama Shukla of Government Higher Secondary School Bhadesar in Janjgir Champa district of Chhattisgarh filed a petition in the High Court demanding the benefit of two salary hikes. The teacher says that despite getting sterilized and being a green card holder, the state government is reluctant to give salary hike. After hearing the case, the High Court has issued a notice to the state government and directed to give the benefit of two salary hikes to the teacher under the previously implemented scheme. A time period of 10 weeks has been fixed for this.

The petitioner teacher told the court that under the government scheme, she had got sterilized after the birth of the second child. The Health Department had also issued her a green card.

After getting sterilized and receiving the green card, she submitted the documents to the District Education Officer’s office and demanded salary fixation and salary hike under the government scheme.

The case was heard in the single bench of Justice Rakesh Mohan Pandey. The counsel for the petitioner informed the court about the order of the Madhya Pradesh Administrative Tribunal.

The counsel for the petitioner cited the order passed in the case of AK Kesharwani vs. Government under the order of M.P. State and others and Chhattisgarh High Court dated March 9, 2010.

After hearing all the parties, Justice Rakesh Mohan Pandey directed the petitioner to submit a fresh representation to the state government and the government to resolve the matter within 10 weeks.
