A person was murdered due to enmity near Sivakasi

Madurai: A 27-year-old man was allegedly hacked to death by an armed gang near Sivakasi in Virudhunagar district on Wednesday night. The deceased has been identified as M Karthik Pandian of Ayyampatti village. Sources said the deceased Pandian had married Nandini (22) of Mahatma Gandhi Nagar and lived in Ayyampatti against the interests of Nandini’s relatives.

After investigation, Superintendent of Police Feroz Khan Abdullah ruled out the claim of honour killing as both belonged to the same community. A week ago, Nandini’s brother Balamurugan had warned Pandian to leave the village. But Pandian ignored his words. Angry Balamurugan, along with his brother Dhanbalamurugan and his friend, killed Pandian. The SP said the Thiruthangal police have registered a case and arrested the three.
