UP: Troubled by financial crisis, woman attempted suicide
Lakhimpur Kheri. A woman employed in a Class IV post in Nagar Panchayat Kheri Town tried to commit suicide by hanging herself. She was financially very troubled due to not getting salary for two months. The woman has been admitted to the district hospital. However, the EO says that the salary was sent to the woman’s account two days ago. Kitabun, a resident of Mohalla Katra in the city, is working as a Class IV employee in place of her husband Kamru through the deceased dependent quota. She has been posted at the city’s dargah. On Tuesday night, troubled by financial crisis, she tied a dupatta around her neck and tried to commit suicide by hanging herself from a latch in the room.
Meanwhile, when her seven-year-old daughter saw this, she went to the neighbor’s house crying and told about her mother hanging on the noose. On this, the neighbors reached the spot in a hurry and brought her down by cutting the dupatta and informed the UP 112 police. On receiving the information, the police reached the spot and seeing her condition critical, took the woman to the district hospital. Where she is being treated after being admitted. The condition of the woman is said to be fine now. It is said that the woman was not paid salary for two months. She kept crying and pleading in front of the officers in the Nagar Panchayat, but no one listened to her. The woman took the step of suicide after not getting salary and being left penniless.
