Action: Delhi Police took action against a 20-year-old man who was wearing a ‘Spiderman’ costume and was seen sitting on the bonnet of a car in Delhi’s Dwarka area. The man was accompanied by 19-year-old Gaurav Singh, who was allegedly driving the car. Police imposed a fine of Rs 26,000 for dangerous driving and other violations in connection with the case. Police said they received a complaint on social media platform X about a Scorpio car seen on the streets of Dwarka with a man wearing a Spiderman costume sitting on its bonnet. Upon receiving the complaint, the officials took necessary action. The car and its occupants were recovered near Ramphal Chowk in Dwarka. A senior police official said the man wearing the Spiderman costume has been identified as Aditya (20), a resident of Najafgarh, and the driver of the vehicle has been identified as Gaurav Singh (19), a resident of Mahavir Enclave. The owner and driver of the vehicle have been prosecuted for dangerous driving, driving without pollution certificate and not wearing seat belt, which attract a maximum fine of Rs 26,000 and/or imprisonment or both, the official said. Delhi Traffic Police reiterates its commitment to ensure road safety for all citizens. He said such reckless behaviour on the roads will not be tolerated and strict action will be taken against offenders to uphold the law and protect the lives of road users. He further added, “We urge citizens to report any cases of dangerous driving or traffic violations immediately. Public cooperation is vital in maintaining road safety and ensuring smooth flow of traffic in the city.”
