Moradabad: Five-day FDP concludes

Moradabad: Dean Academics of Tirthankar Mahaveer University, Moradabad Prof. Manjula Jain said, there are four styles of learning. Visual, auditory, reading/writing and kinesthetic learning. Teachers should emphasize on students’ learning from all these styles. She also discussed the VARK model and Honey and Mumford learning style as well as Kolb learning model. Distinct learning includes activist, reflector, curist and pragmatics. Kolb learning style and experiment learning cycle is based on four learning stages. Active experimentation, concrete experience, abstract conceptualization and reflective observation etc. are included. What is learned in active experimentation? What is concrete experience and what is real experience? Abstract conceptualization includes learning from one’s own experience and reflective observation includes using the learned knowledge in practice. Prof. Jain was speaking in the five day FDP on Importing Innovative Essentials of Nursing Education for Facilitating to Students’ Learning organized by Tirthankara Parshvanath College of Nursing, Amroha of Tirthankara Mahavir University. Along with Director Governance Mrs. Neelima Jain, Dean of Nursing College Dr. SP Subhashini, Vice Principal Prof. Jasleen M. were also present in the FDP. Prof. Manjula Jain was honored with a bouquet and a memento.
Speakers spoke on about two dozen topics in the FDP including Role of Teacher in Medical Education, Dr. SP Subhashini on Micro Teaching: Practice via Video Recording, Importance of Micro Teaching, Prof. Shyoli Sen spoke on Problem Based Learning in Nursing Education, Dr. Ritu Jain on Role of Skills Lab in Clinical Skills Teaching, Dr. Shalini Ninoria on Effective Utilization of Power Point as a Teaching Learning Resource, Mr. Basavaraj Mudhol on Basics of Assessment, Assessment of Knowledge and Understanding, Mrs. Himashi on Clinical Learning Environment, Mrs. Divya Priya on Assessing Clinical Skills and Attitudes OSCII/OSPI, Mr. Siddheshwar Angadi on Introduction to Behavioral Objectives, Prof. RN Krishnaiya on Principles of Adult Learning, Prof. Yogesh Kumar on Lesson Plan, Mr. Oscar Abediah on Structure Viva Voce, Mrs. Shalini on Nursing Ethics in Teaching, Miss Joshila Akojam and Miss Shalu Upadhyaya on Learning Need Analysis.
