Army vehicle hit by truck, 6 soldiers injured

Jalandhar: A major accident occurred due to collision of two trucks on Ludhiana Highway in Jalandhar, Punjab. An army vehicle collided with a private company’s truck, in which 6 soldiers were injured. All the injured are army soldiers. The injured have been admitted to the Army Hospital.

The accident happened at 6 am on Saturday. After the accident, the driver of the private company truck fled from the spot. It is being told that an army vehicle was going from PAP Chowk to Pathankot Chowk on the highway near the Indian Oil Depot near Suchi Pind in Jalandhar. At the same time, a private company truck was also going on the same route. The accident happened due to the tire burst of this truck. Due to the tire burst, the truck went out of control and broke the divider on the road and collided with the army truck going on the other side. The collision was so strong that the army truck overturned.

6 army personnel were injured in the accident. The injured have been admitted to Ludhiana Army Hospital, where their treatment is going on. There is no news of any casualty in the accident.

As soon as the incident was reported, the local police immediately reached the spot and started relief and rescue operations. Talking to IANS, police officials said that the driver of the truck is absconding since the accident, and his search is on. Along with this, the investigation of the case is going on.

The collision of the two trucks was so severe that the truck got completely damaged and fell on the road, causing a long jam on both sides of the highway. The police is continuously trying to clear the jam, but till now the traffic has not been able to start smoothly.
