KT Rama Rao criticised CM Revanth Reddy over farm loan waiver
Hyderabad: BRS Working Chairman KT Rama Rao took a dig at Chief Minister Revanth Reddy, saying that the farmers’ loan waiver scheme is being mismanaged as it is diverting money and attention from important issues. He said that the Revanth Reddy government is only engaged in ‘diverting attention and diverting money’. Rama Rao said that after misleading people for about seven months, the government implemented the crop loan waiver scheme, which turned out to be a disaster. He said that instead of giving relief to the farmers, it caused more misery as the guidelines turned out to be the death knell for the scheme.
“Though they are eligible, many farmers are wondering why their loans have not been waived. No one is ready to listen to their woes,” he said. He questioned the logic behind celebrating the implementation of the farm loan waiver scheme, which has left the eligible beneficiaries in distress. He said that out of the eligible 40 lakh farmers, about 30 lakh farmers are disappointed. The BRS Working Chairman also targeted the government for the inordinate delay in the distribution of Raithu Bharosa Investment Assistance to farmers. He reminded that the Rythu Bharosa, which is supposed to be distributed in June, has not been credited to farmers’ bank accounts for the current crop season even in July. He also pointed to the unfulfilled promises of Rs 15,000 to sharecroppers and Rs 12,000 to farm labourers under this scheme.
