Two terrorists were killed after an encounter between security forces and terrorists.

Encounter of Terrorist: Two terrorists were killed after an encounter broke out between security forces and militants in Jammu and Kashmir’s Kupwara district on Thursday, officials said. Security forces foiled an infiltration bid along the Line of Control (LoC) in the morning. The encounter started in Keran sector of the north Kashmir district and the militants were killed in the firing, they said. The operation is ongoing, a security official said. Two Army jawans were injured in another encounter with militants in a remote forest village in Jammu and Kashmir’s Doda district in the wee hours of Thursday as security forces continued their operation despite inclement weather and challenging terrain. The encounter, which lasted for over an hour, broke out at around 2 am in Jaddan Bata village in Kastigarh area when militants opened fire on a temporary security camp set up in a government school for the ongoing search operation. A critically injured soldier was airlifted to Udhampur-based Command Hospital by an Advanced Light Helicopter (ALH) despite challenging weather conditions, a defence spokesperson said. Officials said a massive search operation was launched in Doda after four army personnel, including a captain, were killed in the forests of Desa on the intervening night of Monday and Tuesday. They said security forces were committed to eliminate the terrorists and restore peace in the area. Deputy Inspector General of Police, Doda-Kishtwar, Ramban Range, Shridhar Patil told reporters in Kastigarh, “All security forces on the ground are engaged in a coordinated operation against the terrorists, with whom we had contact yesterday and today as well. The operation is in progress and we will get success soon.” However, he refused to share more information, citing that the operation was ongoing.
