FIR lodged against rice mill operator in laborer’s death case

Durg. Police have registered a case of culpable homicide against the operator of Sita Rice Mill operating in the district. In this rice mill, in February 2023, a laborer died of burns during work. In the investigation of this case, the Jewra-Sirsa Chowki Police has found the negligence of the mill operator. After this a case has been registered against him.

Jewra-Sirsa outpost in-charge Mukesh Sori told that Karanja Bhilai resident Lokeshwar Nirmalkar (40 years) used to work in Shri Sita Rice Mill (Shri Sita Agro Food Pvt. Ltd.). On 23 February 2023, there was a fire in the dust of the mill. The mill operator had sent Lokeshwar to douse the fire. While extinguishing the fire, he suddenly got hit by it and got badly burnt. After this, he was hurriedly admitted to Sector-9 Hospital. He died on February 24 during treatment there. The Jewra-Sirsa Chowki police had started a systematic investigation in the matter.
