AMRITSAR: 4 arrested with 1.9 kg heroin

Tarn Taran, Tarn Taran: Khalra Police and Valtoha Police arrested four drug smugglers (two each) with 1.971 kg heroin from different places in their respective areas late Wednesday evening. SSP Ashwani Kapoor shared information in this regard in a press conference held at his office on Thursday. The SSP said that Khalra Police led by SHO Inspector Satpal Singh arrested two persons with 990 grams of heroin at a check post set up at Theh Klan village.
The drug smugglers have been identified as Varinder Singh Gabbar, resident of Bhura Kohna in Tarn Taran district and Gurjant Singh Janta, resident of Ramuwala. The accused were riding a motorcycle without registration number. Khalra police have registered a case against the accused under sections 21-C, 29, 61 and 85 of the NDPS Act and sections 10, 11 and 12 of the Aircraft Act.
