District Executive Committee meeting concluded in CG

For the successful implementation of “Ullhas Navbharat Literacy Program”, under the guidance of Collector and Chairman District Literacy Mission Authority Prabhat Malik, Chief Executive Officer District Panchayat and Vice Chairman District Literacy Mission Authority S. Alok, a meeting of the District Literacy Mission Authority Executive Committee was organized in the Collectorate hall. CEO Alok said that under the National Education Policy 2020, 100% basic literacy and numeracy is to be provided to all youth, adults, men and women by 2030. Ullas Nav Bharat Literacy Program is a centrally sponsored scheme which has been started for “Education for All”. Under this program, the target is to make 35000 illiterates above 15 years of age literate in the session 2023-24 and 2024-25. CEO S. Alok directed the officers present in the meeting through Navbharat Literacy Program that VT should be set up to run the “Ullhas Navbharat Literacy” center. Volunteers, children studying in DIET, teachers and children studying in 10th and 12th should be selected as VT. He informed the officials that the state government provides 10 bonus marks to students of 10th and 12th for working as VT. Therefore, it should be widely publicized and all the principals should motivate the children for this work.

Their register should be maintained and illiterates should be motivated to become literate. In the meeting, the District Panchayat CEO took information from the development block nodal officers one by one regarding the entry work in the survey “Ullhas App” of the “Ullhas Navbharat Literacy” program. He instructed all the development block level nodal officers to compulsorily complete the entry work within 01 week. District Education Officer Shri Mohan Rao Sawant informed the CEO about the problems being faced by the development block level nodal officers in the entry work and told its solution. The CEO directed all the officers and teachers to provide information about the ‘Ullas Navbharat Literacy’ program to the general public and complete the entry work by running a campaign. In the meeting, the CEO did a detailed review of the ‘Ullas Center’ and identification of learners and volunteer teachers, creation of environment for the Ullas program, construction of entrance, arrangement of reading materials, arrangements of voluntary organizations and other institutions in the ‘Ullas Navbharat Literacy’ program, training of skilled trainers and volunteer trainers and operation of Ullas centers etc.

CEO Alok said that the target is to make the illiterates of the district literate through volunteer teachers from 2022-23 to 2024-25. He directed that all the illiterates and volunteer teachers have to be identified soon and entered in the Ullas portal. For this, CEO Alok directed all the officers of the district and development block to complete the work within the time limit. He said that ward in-charges should also be selected at the village level and in urban bodies, through whom this campaign is to be run smoothly within the time limit. District Education Officer and Member Secretary Mohan Rao Sawant, District Program Officer Women and Child Development Sameer Pandey, Deputy Director Social Welfare Sangeeta Singh, Meena Panigrahi Principal DIET Mahasamund, Rekharaj Sharma, District Project Officer Mahasamund, addressed the meeting, Kamal Narayan Chandrakar DMC Samagra Shiksha, Brijesh, In-charge Youth Officer, Nehru Yuva Kendra, BEO of Mahasamund development block, Liladhar Sinha ABEO, Gajendra Dhruv BRCC, Ishwar Chandrakar Nodal Officer and Bagbahara, Pithora, Basna, Saraipali development block BEO, BRCC and Nodal Officer joined through video conference of their Janpad Panchayat.
