Police rescued the teenager, the youth who kidnapped her was arrested

Raigarh news. Under the guidance of Superintendent of Police Divyang Kumar Patel, a special campaign is being run to find missing persons, in which Jute Mill Police found 26 missing persons last month and yesterday, success was achieved in finding a missing minor from Korba district. Regarding the missing girl, on March 18, the girl’s father filed an application in Jute Mill Police Station and registered a report that his daughter (17 years, 07 months) used to work in a local shop. On March 14, she went to work in the morning as usual and did not return till evening. On going to her shop and inquiring, it was found that the girl had left the shop for home at around 06.00 pm. The family members inquired with the girl’s friends and nearby areas, and when the girl was not found, a report was lodged. On the girl’s disappearance, crime number 143/2024 was registered against an unknown person under section 363 IPC in Jute Mill Police Station. During the investigation of the missing minor, on questioning the girls working with her, it was learnt that the girl was friends with the youth Tridev Mahant.

The mobile phones of the suspect youth and the girl were switched off. Police station in-charge Jute Mill Inspector Mohan Bhardwaj had engaged their acquaintances and informers to inform about the missing girl and the suspect. Meanwhile, on getting the information that both of them were living in Darri, district Korba, the Jute Mill police team immediately left for Korba and brought the girl and the suspect youth Tridev Mahant to the police station. On questioning the girl, she told that she had known Tridev Mahant for the last 5-6 years and that Tridev Mahant had taken her away by promising to marry her and had established physical relations with her. In the case, sections 366, 376 IPC 4, 6 POCSO Act were extended and the accused Tridev Mahant (age 19 years), resident of police station area Jute Mill, district Raigarh, was arrested and sent on judicial remand.
