Kanwar Yatra: UP government imposed strict ban on these things
Kanwar Yatra: The Uttar Pradesh government has issued an advisory to ban the display of weapons during the Kanwar Yatra. As per the recommendations of the CM Yogi government, DJs and religious songs will be played in specified areas during the month-long Kanwar Yatra. The Kanwar Yatra begins on July 22 and runs till August 19. DGP Prashant Kumar said that in view of the yatra, changes have been made in traffic control. Big vehicles are banned on the road. Also, the entry of heavy vehicles will be banned on the Delhi Expressway, Dehradun Expressway and Chaudhary Charan Singh Kanwar Marg from midnight of July 21. The DGP also said that Kanudis have been discouraged from carrying spears, tridents and other weapons. There is no ban on DJ performance on the Kanwar Yatra route, but the sound should be within the prescribed limit as per the Supreme Court order. Liquor and meat shops will also remain closed on the Yatra route. Local authorities have been asked to ensure that stray animals like pigs do not roam on the migration routes. The Yatra canal is monitored with CCTV and drones. He further said, normal traffic will be banned on the Ayodhya-Basti route. Only ambulances and other emergency vehicles are allowed to pass. Another official said that police officers are coordinating with registered organizations and believers.
