Epic Games disputes Apple over iOS launch
TECH : In the latest twist in an ongoing bitter dispute over Apple’s dominance of the iOS App Store, “Fortnite” maker Epic Games said Friday that the tech giant has hampered its ambitions to launch a game storefront on iPhones and iPads across Europe.The video game publisher said Apple had twice rejected documents it provided to open the Epic Games Store because some buttons and labels resembled those on its App StoreIn a series of posts on X, Epic said, “We are following the standard conventions for buttons in iOS apps, and we are using the same “install” and “in-app purchase” naming conventions that are used in popular app stores across multiple platforms.”
