India News: Kanchan Kanya Express and local train collided due to negligence of railway employee

India News: Kanchankanya Express and local train collided due to negligence of railway worker, a disastrous collision between Kanchankanya Express and local train was averted due to the timely action of the train driver. According to Local18 Bengal, on June 2, Kanchankanya Express was to go to Sealdah in West Bengal. He was going from Chalsa railway station to Old Malbazar railway station. At the level crossing, the driver immediately realized that the road barriers were not lowered. This happened despite the signal being green. Negligence of railway employees was reportedly responsible for this deficiency. Seeing that no railway personnel was present at the railway gate to raise the alarm, the conductor applied emergency brakes to stop the train. At this time the train was about to touch the gate of the track. A slight delay on the part of the driver could have caused an accident that could have resulted in many deaths. There has been no explanation or comment from the railway authorities on this alleged incident yet.

The most horrific consequence of the gates not being lowered was that they were open and people were passing through the gates on bicycles. The sudden sound of the train horn and brakes alerted everyone and stopped passing through the gates. This ensured that no accident occurred on the track. After everyone was saved, the driver and the rest of the staff got off the train and entered the caretaker’s house. The porter is responsible for the safety of the trains and he was found in the house. Seeing the driver and staff and hearing their complaints, he realized his mistake and started apologizing to them. This news has become a topic of discussion in the city. Everyone is surprised as to what happened that the railway porter had to do another job instead of doing his duty. Railway officials have refused to say anything on this matter. Drivers should not drive through lowered gates as it is illegal and can be fatal. If the driver feels that any sign is not working properly, they can call the 1800 number posted on or near the application sign. This number is also available from your local law enforcement agency.
