West Bengal: West Bengal Governor Anand Bose has filed a defamation case against the state’s Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee. The defamation case filed against CM Mamata Banerjee is to be heard in the Calcutta High Court on Wednesday. On June 28, Governor Anand Bose filed a defamation case against Mamata Banerjee. A day earlier, Mamata Banerjee had said that women had complained to her that they were afraid to go to the Raj Bhavan due to the events taking place there. According to the Calcutta High Court website, the defamation case filed by Bose against Banerjee is to be heard by Justice Krishna Rao on Wednesday. During an administrative meeting at the state secretariat on June 27, Banerjee said women told her that they were afraid to go to the Raj Bhavan due to recent events there. Since then, the Governor has started talking about suing the CM. A contract employee of Raj Bhavan had accused Bose of harassment. After this, Kolkata Police started an investigation. According to Article 361 of the Constitution, criminal proceedings cannot be taken against the Governor during his tenure.
