The case refers to alleged corruption and money laundering in the case, which was later withdrawn. The ED arrested Kavitha (46) from her residence in Banjara Hills in Hyderabad on March 15. The CBI arrested her from Tihar jail. In her bail plea in the ED cases, the Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) leader and daughter of former Telangana chief minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao said she had “no connection” with the excise policy and had “active tolerance towards the excise policy” against her. It was a criminal conspiracy hatched by the ruling party at the Centre.
