Shimla: The Governor visited the Leprosy Ashram in Kotlan Khurd

Shimla: Governor Shiv Pratap Shukla visited the Leprosy Ashram at Kotlan Khurd in Una district on Sunday. About 40 leprosy patients are living with their families in this ashram run by Maa Chinnamastika Leprosy Shelter Society.

On this occasion, the Governor appreciated the efforts of Kotlan Khurd Panchayat Pradhan Mamta Rani and the district administration for serving the leprosy patients. Special care is being taken of cleanliness here and leprosy patients are also taking proper medicine. He also called for providing proper education to the children of the residents here. He said that due to proper treatment, the number of such patients has decreased today. He said that he has been associated with such ashrams in Uttar Pradesh, and is well aware of their problems.

He gave necessary instructions to the district administration to remove the difficulties of the residents and said that he would personally try for their accommodation. He also urged the people to come forward to help the leprosy patients. Gram Panchayat Pradhan Mamta Rani welcomed the Governor. Lal Bahadur of the Leprosy Ashram apprised the Governor about the problems of the Ashram. Deputy Commissioner Raghav Sharma and Superintendent of Police Arjit Sen were also present on the occasion.
