Chandigarh: Two thieves arrested, 16 vehicles recovered
Chandigarh: The Chandigarh police have arrested two vehicle thieves and recovered 15 two-wheelers and an e-rickshaw from them. The accused have been identified as Monu and Suraj, both residents of EWS Colony, Dhanas. Police said that based on a tip-off, a naka was set up near Dhanas. During the checking, a motorcycle was stopped and the registration number of the motorcycle was found to be fake during investigation. Later, it was found that the two-wheeler was stolen from Dhanas in October last year.
Both the accused have been arrested and more vehicles were recovered after investigation, police said. A total of 16 vehicles, including 11 motorcycles, four scooters and an e-rickshaw, have been recovered. Police said that both the accused are unemployed and used to steal vehicles for fun and later abandon them at different places.
